First show of the new year, and I figure with the end only twelve short months away I’ve got nothing to lose, so I’m going for broke. Each week I’ll playing exactly what I want to hear. Hopefully it’s what you want to hear too.

This week some great music from 2011, some odds and ends, and great live stuff from Zappa, Primus, Zeppelin as well as a loving dedication to my fiancee at the top of the second hour.

I love interviewing local bands, and tonight I had in a great singer: Xandra Corpora of Con Brio. She likens the band to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, but I think they have a really original sound. Check out the two tracks we played on the show.

Also, next week is Rock Fight 7. See below for details. Rotten Ronnie Donovan phoned in to talk smack, but I put him in his place and hung up.

Tonight, some brand spankin’ new Mark Lanegan, which will knock your socks off.
