Lava Lamps & 8-Track Theatre scores Tommy Chong interview

Wednesday, August 14, 11am

Chong-2Keep on drinkin’ that Hi-C Ecto Cooler!  That’s per order of Nurse Annabella, host of Lava Lamps & 8-Track Theatre. You can enjoy your  fine beverage selection while listening to her first interview, which was a doozy:  Tommy Chong of Cheech & Chong fame. (Ep. 14, 8/10/13, in LL8’s podcasts, beginning around the 1:30 mark.)

Nurse Annabella, “the grooviest Horror DJ,” started taping her own radio shows in her bedroom in in the early 90’s–when she was in 7th grade. Now she brings you an all-out vintage videogame sonic assault via her Panasonic 8-track player and her 1975 Marantz tape deck with the wood paneling. The first to play  vintage videogames on the air, Nurse Annabella plays the best in obscure 70’s heavy psych rock and the rarest  of movie trailers from the 30’s-80’s. She  also treats you to sounds from her vintage toy collection, featuring her trusty Casio SK-1 keyboard and circuit bent Speak & Spell.

Lava Lamps & 8-Track Theatre airs every Saturday morning from 4:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. Nurse Annabella promises more surprises soon!
