KIM FOWLEY was a thorn in the side of the beast called pop music for over 50 years. He was arguably the trashy flip side of PHIL SPECTOR, recording crazy wild novelty singles just for the fun of it in the 1960s and then putting together acts like The RUNAWAYS and VENUS AND THE RAZORBLADES in the 1970s. In later years he was more like an underground svengali, showing up in various towns and recording outrageous records with local musicians, and then disappearing just as quickly. Irreverent, difficult, visionary — he definitely left his mark. The Animal Man beckons, fellow music geeks!
