JOHN CALE (not to be confused with JJ CALE or JOHN CAGE) was one of the founding members of The VELVET UNDERGROUND, and kept himself plenty busy in the decade following his split from that band in 1968. In addition to producing some of the most important and influential rock recordings of the late 1970s (like PATTI SMITH’s Horses and The STOOGES first LP) he had quite an amazing and productive solo career. This episode of GE plucks many of the highlights of Mr. CALE’s LPs from that era for your listening pleasure. Hail the Godfather Of Punk, fellow music geeks!
