Physically Connecting The Remote Box

This is something I wrote up a while ago, and never hit “send”.  These are the instructions to physically set up the remote box for a broadcast.  These instructions do NOT cover how to connect the laptop for your remote, as that is covered on a page on the RV website.

http://www.radiovalencia.fm/guide/remote-broadcasting/

Instructions for physically connecting the remote-box:

Plug Mic 1’s XLR into channel 1.

Plug Mic 2’s XLR into channel 2.
Plug your laptop or iPod into channel 3, using the RCA-to-1/8″ cables, plus the RCA-to-1/4″ adapters in the yellow bag.
Plug your other laptop or iPod into channel 4, using the RCA-to-1/8″ cables, plus the RCA-to-1/4″ adapters in the yellow bag.
Connect the main-out from the board to the Mic-In on the laptop.  (Has a tiny mic symbol next to it.)  Using 2 1/4″-to-RCA adapters and an RCA-to-1/8″ cable.
Plug the laptop power-supply in (tiny, tiny plug), and the USB wi-fi booster doodad.
Plug the stereo-1/4″-to-RCA splitter doodad into the “phones” output on the board.  Connect the RCA-to-1/8″ cable from the splitter into the headphone-amp on the upper right of the box.  (The input is the one on the far right.)
Plug headphones into the amp, turn on the powerstrip and the lightswitch, and you should be physically good-to-go.  After that, you turn on the laptop and it’s a WinAmp question, and that is Dr. Junk’s department.
