...FROM MYSTERIOUS, DISTANT DWARF PLANET PLUTO, called Plutonium, as related by Clark Ashton Smith, comes as a fine, white powder. We know the Element, Plutonium, as a highly radioactive chemical element with Atomic Number 94. It is an actinide metal of silvery-gray appearance that tarnishes when exposed to air, and forms a dull coating when oxidized. Smith's Plutonium is certainly not to be confused with the element (Pu) but is a substance collected on an expedition to the Outer Solar System. His famous story tells what happens-- and what can happen --if you take it.
