Can Haz DJ: the Future is Punk & the Past is a Playlist

Friday, August 27, 6pm

Next show: 10pm Tuesday, August 31st, things get very punk. Yerz truly, mikl-em, will be kicking out the top 13 Punk Rock songs of ALL-Time. You may want to check out CanHazDJ on Facebook or @CanHazDJ.

That’s right, using the scientific incontrovertible method of “sez me”, I have determined Punk’s ultimate baker’s dozen, the finest most mohawkingest tunes to be found between Lawndale, The Bowery & the river Thames.

Seriously, if you like Punk Rock of the old school variety, if just reading the number 1977 makes you salivate, if you know the name of the guy who was kicked out of the Sex Pistols for liking The Beatles or can name one or more bands that Richard Hell played in, if you know the difference between Tony James and Brian James, if you know what CBGB & OMFUG stands for, you are going to want to have to be there next Tuesday. The top 13, Anarchy Rules style–which means there are more than thirteen and there is no #1.

You can download mp3s of last week’s show, which featured noizy-ass electronic music & a song based on a poem by the Winnie the Pooh guy + some Irish comedy and a song from my all-time favorite album. And if you are on the proverbial fence, here is the playlist from last week’s Can Haz DJ, mikl’s Sophomoric Expression….
