BROADCAST 33 / NINE
Broadcast 33 starts with a short feature of the superb LP release by Marie Davidson Adieux au Dancefloor. Out on Cititrax, Adieux au Dancefloor is her most seminal work, exploring her POV of dance music and culture through her beautifully sculpted productions.

Afterwards is an in-depth discussion about the past and present of Industrial music with Nine (Nihar Bhatt). As one fourth of the Surface Tension collective and through his own productions, Bhatt has been heavily involved in the local scene for several years and as an insightful perspective on how industrial music has impacted techno music today. He finishes the show with a lush mix of current artists who use the industrial ethos in their own music. Enjoy.

BROADCAST 32 / NICK OTTRANDO
Broadcast 32 of Infinite Beat kicks off with a short feature on the new Nyctophobia EP by mysterious producer A001. Out on MORD, this release is one monstrous track after another, building on the tension and terror one feels when overpowered by darkness. There is no information on this release except for the following note:

~black car’s running
in the rusty light
of a bohemian sunset
while the desert cursed
dust over the words
of a scared man~

Afterwards is a live DJ set from the much respected Nick Ottrando. The man behind the reigns at Parameter, a night specializing in bringing the sound of the UK underground to the Bay Area, Ottrando has been able to not only showcase some of the best talent in the bass and techno scene, but also strengthen bonds among our own community right here in the Bay Area. Featuring several producers who have been featured at Parameter as well as several unreleased tracks, Ottrando is a master curator of sound, not only as a promotor, but also as a DJ. Enjoy.

BROADCAST 31 / NACKT
September 3, 2016 4:00pm

Infinite Beat
BROADCAST 31 / NACKT
Broadcast 31 kicks off with a short feature on the new release on Blackest Ever Black. The project behind this beautiful record is Tomorrow The Rain Will Fall Upwards? Not a band per se, but a collective effort from the efforts of Conrad Standish, Jonnine Standish (HTRK), Genevieve McGuckin (These Immortal Souls) and Lucas Santanna. There is no indication on who worked on what track. It is not even what I would call a compilation. It plays like a soundtrack from a Takashi Ito film. A very disjointed, non-narrative film that jumps from clarity to a haunting, unfocused ghost. A beautiful release that is highly recommended. One of my personal favorites this year.

After, live in the studio is Nackt, a talented DJ and producer based in the East Bay. He is a part of the Outpost crew, one half of Rare Form party, has a release on 100% Silk, Run the Length of Your Wildness, Gays Hate Techno and has played many long standing institutions of techno and house all over the Bay. He drops an all vinyl live DJ set celebrating much of his love of 70s/80s electronics and those inspired by them. Enjoy.

Broadcast 30 is up for your podcasting pleasure. Featuring the intelligent, funny and undeniably talented techno producer The Creatrix. She is known as one half of the experimental duo Felidae with Beast Nest and has collaborated with many other Bay Area based producers like Nine. We end with a beautiful live set from the Bay Area producer. Enjoy.

BROADCAST 29 / BAISE MOI
Broadcast 29 has now been podcasted for your listening pleasure. A short preview of the new release by Decollage called Registration. Registration is on the new California-based label Idol Patterns. You can download it and order a CD copy on Idol Patterns’ bandcamp. I highly recommend grabbing a copy.

Afterwards is a solo DJ set inspired by the bold writing of Virginie Depentes and her most popular, controversial work, Baise Moi. Not the best film, but an important one in radical feminist cinema, Baise Moi was a film adaptation of her book of the same title. Directed by her, an ex-prostitute, and porn actress/author Coralie Trinh Thi, it is known as a "rape and revenge" film, though it is a far more radical depiction of the genre (which is normally directed by men). The film is an ultra violent, real sex depiction of female aggression as a reaction to the marginalization, sexual abuse and violence at the hands of hyper masculinity.

BROADCAST 28 / DIMENTIA
Broadcast 28 is up for your listening pleasure. Starting with a short feature on Opal Tapes' new release by Oakland's own Russell E.L. Butler. Titled "The First Step," Butler has taken a leap from the literary, thoughtful introspection of "God is Change" and walks fearless strides with his new EP. Highly recommended.

He is a great hardware-based producer in the Bay Area and has been a huge part of the esoteric Katabatik collective, an institution that has been bringing the most evocative in experimental electronic music. As an extension of his last release, Mystique Youth, "Horizons" dives deep into the witching hour, after a wild night of ecstasy and just before sunrise cleanses you of the night's debauchery. It is a stunning release that is highly recommended.

From SF institution The Com#, Inhalt (Dark Entries) and playing for years as a respected DJ, Gibbs is moving towards the future with his own solo productions and collaborations with another gifted producer Amber Cox.

BROADCAST 21 / AMER
Broadcast 21 featured a live dj set inspired by the beautiful, 2009 film Amer. A post modern homage to giallo films, Amer was directed by French/Belgian couple Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani.

Amer is about the sexual awakening and development of a young girl and features the classic imagery of giallo films. Beautifully shot, often with a similar technicolor filter as classic films like Suspiria and Inferno, Amer floats through three events in a young woman's life. Is it reality? Is it a fever dream? The answers are found in your imagination.

BROADCAST 17 / WORKER/PARASITE
Broadcast 17 is now up for your listening pleasure. Starting with a short DJ set full of slightly more sinister, Halloween inspired tracks from Tzusing, Smersh and British Murder Boys. The spirits are cleared with a short feature on Damon Eliza Palermo's upcoming release on Canadian label 1080p called Clouds of David. It's a stunning ambient cassette coming out November 27th and it is highly recommended.

Afterwards is a short interview and live PA by one of the most celebrated and talented techno producers in the Bay Area, Worker/Parasite. He has a new release on Spanish label Classicworks called Depth Charge full of his raw, acidic techno.

His set bangs fast and ferociously. Enjoy.
