Live from Isreal
You say you want a Revolution?

Indeed! Live from Isreal, this week's episode of the Love and Peace Hour focuses on songs, chats, and ideas about Peace, Love, Freedom, Revolution and Social Justice. We bring reports from a demonstration in Tel Aviv, how the occupy movement has developed in this country, and tidbits from Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.

Man oh man, this show was fraught with technical snafus and weird broadcasting gremlins from the get go. In the end, RV persevered, and yes, after many attempts, takes, double-takes and re-takes - the show came through, albeit in two parts.

In this first part, we bring you The Beatles, Bob Marley, and
The Hopi Prophecy...(Hopi text put to music by our very own Japa Kaur.) Dig it.

and on to part 2...

with one small program note: Note, this is a Paul Addis friendly show, that would be, there is no Dead to be found here...it's ok, Paul, you are safe to keep on listenin'...

Japa
Love on the Road
Broadcast live from Turkey, Japa is on the road, so the theme this week: traveling songs! Peace and Love - on the Road!

Joined by co-host Radio Bob, Japa brings us numbers from the Allman Brothers, Cat Stevens, the Grateful Dead, The Monkees, and a showstopper sung by a surprise celebrity guest. (a special Radio Valencia exclusive segment that you will *not* want to miss!)

a Japa original, "Dedopolis" dots the scene, along with the token chick song for this week, a number by Joni Mitchell dedicated to the almighty wrybread.

Japa closes out the show with a little more Dead, another original hit, and then, yes, it's time to rock some Willie and get On the Road Again.

ok, now, about that pizza...

Love and Peace at Women's Kundalini Yoga Retreat in Turkey

Japa
Love and Peace at Women's Kundalini Yoga Retreat in Turkey
On location from bungalow #2 at her Kundalini Yoga retreat on the Meditteranean, Japa brings us songs, sounds, mantras, quotes and tidbits from her most recent adventure, a week long event of self-love and peace led by master Guru Rattan Kaur Khalsa of yogatech.com

This episode of the Love and Peace hour opens with one of Dr. Hari's favorites, Ripple, by the Grateful Dead, then leads us into a couple other, not as well known tunes, followed by more Dead, a Japa original, "Barco do Paz", and a snapshot of Turkey as seen by a young guitar-slinging female walking along in Istanbul in the rain.

The (slightly-less-than-an*) hour show rounds out with a good ole shameless chick song by the Indigo Girls, and a duet by Japa known as Rhada Krishna.

Over and out.

*due to some initial technical snafus, that were heroically overcome across continent - big thanks to wrybread, Quarterman Jack and the boys in the basement (don't worry, we'll get you your donuts soon. that's, chocolate cruller and a butternut, right?)

This is a TEST.
This is only a TEST.
A test of the Valencia remote broadcasting system - to see if we can get it together to bring us live Japa on location.

TEST #1: Japa action on the keys late night from home.

"Serenade" by Sherwin Day

then Robo DJ from the station comes in and takes over.

TEST SUCCESS!

The Cup Runneth Over

The Cup Runneth Over
Thanks to some bonus time allotment this week, got to throw in a few extra tunes for this beefy hour of Love and Peace. Hosted by DJ "Radio Bob", the line up included good old favorites from Cat Stevens, The Mammas and the Papas, The Beatles, The Eagles, and of course - The Grateful Dead. We even managed to squeeze some Janis in there at the end as well.

The show also featured some Japa originals including "The Moth", "The 13 Grandmothers" (song about an incredible group of wise women from around the world. www.grandmotherscouncil.org/ - talk about Love and Peace - they are all over it), and "It's all God"

This episode also included a bonus section fresh "from da 'aina", featuring Japa's latest addition to her arsenal, The Ukalele. Sweeeeeet -
tunes from the island included Bob Marley and a couple other feel-good ocean breezy favorites.

A very special Japa original aired during this show - a song that was recently debuted at the "Playing for Change" concert in Oakland a couple weeks ago. "Peace Parade!" - or is it "Peace Marmalade" ?? by Japa, inspired by the concert and the organization, www.playingforchange.com - this organization is dedicated to supporting music programs for schools/kids around the world. Totally cool, man.

What else? Oh, well, thanks to the extra time at the end, managed to squeeze in some exciting and unexpected bonus tracks that include "Dock of the Bay", "Listen to the Music" and the old time favorite, "Know you Rider".

awesome. Wow, fun show. waheguru!

Japa's Lonely Hearts Club Jam
Japa's first appearance on Radio Valencia, she teams up with Revolution Clash for an awesome hour of live tunes, romantic tales and innuendos, hearthrob-inspired songs and lots of pointless banter.

Let's see, we got a couple covers here, Dylan and Joni, plus some lively Japa originals including "Husband Lord", "The Blue Ballin' Blues" and a couple other surprise favorites.

The added bonus of Revolution Clash on the airwaves makes for quite a lively show indeed. don't believe a word of it...
