Lemme Ask You A Question #36: Leigh Gregory and Ville Vilpponen of WHITE SAILS
Leigh Gregory and Ville Vilpponen join the show to play some tracks off the new White Sails album, Memory & Desire. It's the second full length album under the White Sails masthead -- and one of several wistful records that the songwriting team has collaborated on over the years.

We talk about how Leigh's wax-poetic lyrics speak to Ville's bolts of melody guitar leads and vice versa... WHITE SAILS CO-DJ set includes songs from Ville's Helsinki, Finland roots (WigWam) as well as the northern wit of I Am Kloot that informs and inspires Leigh's writing style. In addition to the new Memory and Desire album, be sure to pick up one of the few remaining copies of the White Sails limited edition 7" single on beautiful blue vinyl from Fruits de Mer Records.

Lemme Ask You A Question #35: Immigrant and Labor Rights Activist Oscar Rodriguez
This week's guest and co-DJ is Immigrant and Labor Rights Activist Oscar Rodriguez. I met Oscar around 2011 when I helped manage a day laborer center in San Rafael. Oscar is extremely passionate about immigrant and labor rights and taught me a lot about life, liberty and the pursuit of dignidad. He is also pretty opinionated about music, film and politics. Oscar shares his CD collection with Radio Valencia to reveal hits from The Police, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Ricardo Arjona, Alejandro Fernandez and WHITNEY HOUSTON...

Hasta La Victoria Siempre, Oscar!

Lemme Ask You A Question #32: Jedi Knight Journalist Joe Brown
In a rare dispatch from his Introvert Lair, Jedi Knight Journalist and Best Gay Uncle Ever Joe Brown joins the show to drop some of his favorite ambient tracks on the air. Joe's co-Dj set includes upwards-of-seven-minute-long-songs from the likes of Gravenhurst, Marconi Union, Brian Eno -- as well as anecdotes of Joe's Morrissey interview gone horribly wrong.

Joe's journalism career began as a staff reporter with the Washington Post back in 1980 and continues these days as deputy managing editor for features and curated content at Re/code. Bay Area readers will remember Joe as the editor who led the re-PINK-ifying of the San Francisco Chronicle's Sunday Pink section in the early 2000s. I was lucky enough to work with Joe during some of those years - and am forever grateful for all the lessons he shared on how to "use the Force in journalism." Thanks, Joe!

P.S. In this episode, Joe also illustrates how GAY MEN DRAW VAGINAS.
