Saturday was Backwards Day at the Metal Asylum! I have a predictable habit of playing thrashy, punky, old-school metal towards the beginning of the show, then a little bit of death, ending with a transition to black metal or doom/sludge. Then, I typically leave the studio at 2 in a doom-y daze, blinded by sunlight as I leave Chicken Shack, gorge on Dynamo Donuts, and scoot home to take a nap. BO-RING! In the spirit of shaking things up, I reversed my typical playlist, and boy oh boy, was I PUMPED for the rest of the day.

Just a little metal to brighten your day.

I'm back in SF, and that means I get to jam my metal LIVE in the studio again. Although pre-recording the shows from Austin has been fun (thanks, Mr. Evan Dunivan, for your production mastery), there's nothing like being in front of a live mic to catch all the "ums" and "uhs" that I am so prone to mumble. Live radio, it's a wondrous thing.

I started out the set today with some thrashy, dirty, retro tunes, then transitioned into some Black Metal, and ended on a moody note with some slow dirges.
