ARCHAEOPTERYX NO FRAUD - San Francisco (May 27) The notorious theory that a form of Panspermia, not Darwinian evolution is the driver of morphological changes among species over time was mentioned-- though not endorsed --on the Ask Dr. Hal! Radio Valencia podcast the night of the 27th as the esoteric show staggered into beginning, reports and memories tell us. Present were Jett and (after a mere 20 minutes) KrOB himself. The originators of the theory have defamed Archaeopteryx lithographica by calling it a deliberate Piltdown-style fake by cultish scientific malfeasers. But in fact, an entirely new type of this enantiornithine has quite recently been unearthed according to its discoverers. Are they working overtime turning out new Archies around the clock? It seems that only 12 specimens have ever been found before now-- and all are from the late Jurassic of Bavaria, Germany, dating back approximately 150 million years. Now, Dr. Martin Kundrát from the University of Pavol, Jozef Šafárik and co-authors have identified a NEW species of Archaeopteryx — named A. albersdoerferi — that is closer to modern birds in evolutionary terms. This is because it appears "more bird-like." One might argue simply that more avian features, present in all, fossilized for the first known time in this specimen. And a splendid time was had by all. Let's hope KrOB gets his archived podcasts back from the Ether, after another destructive glitch from in-house dithering devices has made them "unavailable."

WHAT WILL WE FIND IN THE WONDER-WORLD of Tomorrow? The gleaming Megalopolis of Technopia? What about Robots rolling right up to you and giving you free samples of smoking material? In our presentation, that's what we encounter. But after many tranches of Augmented Archival Material, just when we'd given up and were reciting William Blake's MILTON, audio-videostar KrOB swept in. Soon we were gliding on an incredible synthesized production from KrOB's mighty brain. So complete was this as an entertainment that we felt compelled not to try to speak over it. And were those psychic anomalies there in the Studio, or hallucinations? You never know. A full five hours of this.

AND THE SHOW TAKES FLIGHT in several not-usually-taken directions, as when, several podcasts ago, we previously veered into the esoteric lore of Baseball. When asked the way a jet engine operates, we are accustomed to answer that it is similar to the way an automobile engine operates: (air) intake, compression, ignition, exhaust. In this episode we discuss fearsome underground spider kingdoms, then reminisce about some of our favorite movies. This retrospective is compressed into consideration of one filmmaker-- Russ Meyer. But his consideration ignites the curious topic of films fetishising, and prominently featuring the female bosom, so often an inspiration. It may be that we exhausted the topic. And round and round we flew. Four hours.

DURING A MEMORABLE 5-HOUR Show. Dr. H. Owll's guest discourses upon entheogens and the possibility that micofungi arrived from an extra-planetary origin, Panspermia in action. Did these mysterious organisms somehow arrive along with the Chicxulub impact event at the terminus of the Mesozoic? What the crater marks was a 100 million-megaton blast that devastated the Gulf of Mexico region first, and then the entire planet. The blast at Chicxulub, which means "Devil's Tail" or perhaps Devil's Cock" in Mayan, generated a core of super-heated plasma in excess of 10,000 degrees. Although that thermal pulse would have been relatively short-lived, a handful of minutes, it would have been lethal for most life of the time.
