Still Giggling at 98: Tribute to Faith Petric/ God Loves Uganda
White Bicycles remembers the late Faith Petric, a mainstay of the San Francisco folk community—and the world's—who passed away last week at age 98. Music by faith, anecdotes from some of her friends and co-performers, and some songs she liked, performed by others. (Photo: Album cover featuring Faith at two different stages of life.)

In Depth Perception, director Roger Ross Williams discusses his documentary God Loves Uganda, which traces the direct involvement of American evangelicals in creating Uganda's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill"—which originally contained the death penalty for anyone queer, lesbian, gay, or bisexual.

Dreamed Obsolescence: Songs that should be irrelevant by now
'Twould be a lovely world in which did not still need songs about police killing innocent civilians, gun violence, unfair treatment of workers, political mudslinging. . . .

Today's music includes a set for 13-year police-shooting victim Andy Lopez, and for Trayvon Martin and Amadou Diallo—songs I would happily retire if possible. Also work from a new group who ask and answer "Where Have All the Protest Songs Gone?", a nod to Faith Petric in advance of next week's tribute to her, and more.
