Malderor Plays Two Hours of Brand New Releases

With a couple of minor exceptions, (Electric Prunes, Mekons, The Ink Spots) this show was two hours of brand-new music. It's all been released in the last month or so, if it's been released yet at all. It starts pretty heavy, then dips down a psych-rock hole for a while, and ends up in indie-world. So, a typical Malderor and Dr. Junk show then.

Malderor, Live From The Oakland Museum
June 8, 2014 2:00pm

Malderor and Dr Junk
Malderor, Live From The Oakland Museum
Malderor was invited to broadcast his show live from the Oakland Museum of California, and played a lot of the records he purchased at a dub vinyl record store in Paris. Since it was a set in a museum, this show is a lot more "experimental" than a "normal" Malderor and Dr. Junk episode, featuring industrial dub, drum & bass, and some spoken word. Check it out! (And THANKS to the Oakland Museum for having us!)

Malderor and One-Eyed King

The South Bay's premier stoner-metal band, One-Eyed King, came by the Malderor & Dr. Junk show, bringing what they term their "thought-provoking-stoner-groove-bar-fight music." There was also some margarita drinking before and after the program at the new La Rondalla.

Malderor and Dr. Junk: Improvisation
Dr. Junk still can't figure out the internet, and Malderor's guest this week had to cancel at the lost possible second. So…Malderor wings it. Malderor and Cheap Hooch: With Alexandra & The Starlight Band
Cheap Hooch and Malderor did a joint show, interviewing Alexandra and Zach from the Alexandra & The Starlight band. This featured some live acoustic performances, as well as a few studio tracks and a lot of music from their friends' bands down in L.A. Stream it, or download the podcast!

Dracula, Live!

Malderor and Dr Junk
Dracula, Live!
Becky Hirschfeld and Lauren Davidson from a local theatrical production of Dracula dropped by the studio to talk about their upcoming show.

http://sfdracula.blogspot.com/

The in-studio network went down, so I couldn't log the tracks I was playing, so your guess is as good as mine for the music from the last 90 minutes. (I recommend "Shazam.")

2:10pm: Hey Jane by Spiritiualized

2:12pm: Sweet Child O' Mine by New Orleans Style

2:15pm: Caught Up by Rocketship Rocketship

2:21pm: Join The Dots (Dub) by Toy

2:28pm: Juju Grid Go Live by Anaxaton6

(After this, we lost contact with the studio machine, but the show was still recording. Includes the first hour or so of Cheap Hooch's 4/20 show, which I stuck around and stepped all over.)
