The Curated Catastrophe - Tsunami Songs
January 16, 2022 2:00pm
Malderor woke up this weekend to a Tsunami Warning. (In San Francisco?) Since he didn't have much time to prepare a radio show this week, the show is all surf/wave/ocean songs. (Although we drift into songs about pirates at the end. I don't know why.) The first two tracks are PLAGUED with skips due to Malderor's soon-to-be-retired geriatric old laptop, so maybe skip to 8:40 until I have time to edit the podcast.

The Curated Catastrophe - Master Of Reality Turns 40
July 25, 2021 2:00pm
Despite the haircut, Malderor isn't really much of a metalhead. That said, he does like Black Sabbath, and their influential album Master of Reality turned 40 this week, so Malderor decided to focus on that record, as well as some of the "doom metal" artists that Sabbath begat, as well as some covers and interviews about their influence over music as a whole. July 18, 2021 2:00pm
Malderor is a member in the "vinyl club" for a Norwegian/UK psych-rock label called Fuzz Club. The Curated Catastrophe - Live Remote From Our New Studio
April 25, 2021 2:00pm
This was the first show done in our new studio space. Technically, it was a remote, since the gear wasn't all set up yet, but Malderor did his show from the new space. Malderor hadn't figured out the mic placement for this new setup yet, so the breaks are a bit echoey. But it's a remote from the new studio!

The Curated Catastrophe - Breathy Vocalists, and Other Stuff
April 4, 2021 2:00pm
This was a "regular" episode of the Catastrophe, in that we mainly focused on music, and decided to skip the topical content this week. Malderor does have a sort of odd commonality amongst his musical selections, as most of them feature breathy male vocalists in the Mark Hollis/Steve Winwood/John Martyn vein, but that's not really a "theme" exactly. Whatever, there is good music this week, so check it out!

The Curated Catastrophe - The Week That Was
January 10, 2021 2:00pm
Well, it's been quite a week here in old the USA. I'm trying to make sense of it, and process it all, through this medium of "radio" or whatever it's called. Musically we're hearing from some big names this weekend. Sabbath, the Pistols, Ian Hunter, and even a little Bruce Springsteen. Also, new music from Ferocious Dog and Drew Bordeaux. And lots of Bad Religion, for some reason, as we look back on the chaotic week that was.
Audio samples do not indicate an endorsement of viewpoints. In fact, if I have time, I think I might go back and retroactively edit the podcast. I feel like I gave perhaps too much time to the rantings of madmen and sore losers. I initially felt like it was important for people to hear what had been said, but now I think I gave too much airtime to people who can't do math.
I did have a lot of...perhaps "fun" isn't the right word, but I found some catharsis in assembling the many voices of this chaotic week. Give it a spin if you want to hear a LOT of voices, viewpoints, and opinions of one of the worst incidents in American history.
