So here we are, four years later, and another election where we tell ourselves “this is the most important election of our lives”. And yet I think it is. Let’s go into Tuesday with our hopes held high, regardless of the outcome. No matter who wins we have a lot of work to do. Get involved in this great American experiment. Get to have a working knowledge of the US Constitution, as well as your state Constitution. Know who your elected representatives are and hold them accountable, regularly. 

If you’re going to be watching the results tonight, please be wary of the “blue mirage”. Most mail-in ballots are from Democrats, so it’s going to look like Biden is in the lead and will win the state, just to have much of that lead disappear once the election day-cast ballots are counted. 

Take a deep breath, it’s going to be a long night.

I’m going to be watching North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin. These are the states that can throw the election from one candidate to the other.

There’s more I could say about this (and I have to my students), but you’re an adult, and you know we have to be patient.
